To be fair, I agree with the rest of the reviews here - Airstream has the best customer service of any HVAC company I've ever dealt with. Their techs were always in constant communication, they showed up when they said they would, and answered all questions. BUT...you're going to pay for this service, and I mean REALLY pay. Like to the tune of 2x-3x the rate for other companies. I was quoted almost $3K for a job to fix a residential heat pump, where the refrigerant had leaked out due to a leak in the system. That's $3K for 4 hours of work and 10 lbs of refrigerant. Take away the ~$300 for refrigerant and you're at about $650 PER HOUR (parts were covered under the HVAC manufacturer warranty). That's INSANE ! I ultimately went with a different LICENSED HVAC company (and paid less than half that) when Airstream told me how much they were charging for the refrigerant itself - they were charging $150/lb (NOT A TYPO, YOU READ THAT RIGHT !) for refirgerant that cost them ~$14/lb and for which other HVAC companies are charging ~$30/lb. I'll happily pay a REASONABLE rate for quality service, but a 1000% markup on refrigerant, that's borderline criminal !
